Selena by Marianne was added to the Marianne range in 2011. While we use Marianne fruit, the winemaking process for Selena is different. We still handpick the grapes at phenolic ripeness but substitute steel tanks for the wooden fermenters. Fermentation takes place over a period of 2 to 4 days, following which maceration in the tank is limited to two weeks. The wine is aged for 1 year only in steel tanks and second fill French barrels. This limited use of oak has yielded a fantastic every day wine that is easy drinking and youthful but remains true to the Estate's distinctive style. the wine has maximum character and flavor with great ageing potential.
Pinotage is South Africa’s very own grape and with Selena Pinotage, we seek to capture the individuality of this unique fruit. Red and black cherries, invite you to a safari of senses. Palate is light and inviting, red berries principally.
